Western Cricket Review

Editorial policy

Western Cricket Review aims to make cricket easier to understand without overstating what can be known. Our articles distinguish explanation from opinion, use careful wording and make room for context where a rule, tactic or interpretation needs it.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against appropriate, available references before publication and take care with the wording of cricket laws and playing conditions. When a point depends on a particular format or competition, we say so rather than implying it applies everywhere. We do not present a reading of tactics as the only possible explanation.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to serve a commercial partner. A partnership does not buy favourable coverage, and commercial arrangements do not determine our conclusions or the topics we choose to explain.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or a misleading passage, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend published material when a change is warranted; where useful, we make the nature of a correction clear to readers.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears. Illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, the image is labelled accordingly. Illustrations are not evidence for factual claims.
